After the success last boat show in Genoa with the Azimut 68S, the Azimut-Benetti shipyard commissioned Stefano
Righini the design of the flagship model in its range open, the new Azimut 86S. For the realization of the hull
yard has chosen materials that will ensure lightness of the structure and sufficient strength, and Kevlar, fiber
carbon and fiberglass.
Regarding the design, arch. Righini has focused on winning style of the model 68 ', also featuring the hull
dell'86S with the series of square windows placed over the sides above the waterline in a symmetrical manner. The deckhouse provides
windows in the typical "shark fins" feature that remembers the flying bridge of the same yard. The project is spread over
two bridges, which are located on the main areas dedicated to the daytime activities, characterized by innovative solutions aimed at
improve the comfort of life on board. The aft platform is an example: in addition to being named as beach, is
characterized by electrically inclined plane to facilitate the operations of launching and beaching of the tender. The latter is located in
its hangar, which is accessible through this door on the transom that hosts, among other things, the catwalk and sliding
steps to reach the cockpit.
Here we find the living area during the day, consisting of a dining table for eight people and a wet bar to starboard, complete with sink,
fridge and barbecue. The cockpit is also located aft sundeck, which becomes the forward end sofa combined
sitting on the dining table. For relaxation there is a small outdoor area on the left with L-shaped sofa and coffee table
coffee, while the bow is arranged a second sun. The interior design was entrusted to the architect Carlo Galeazzi
who bet on the contrast of colors and materials to give a touch of originality to the rooms. The floors are wenge wood
inserts lined with carpeting, while the fabrics were chosen for light colors with burgundy inserts. The salon
includes four sofas and a coffee table expandable, in front of which are mobile bars and accessories for relaxation
such as plasma TV, stereo and DVD system. A bow of the hall is placed the wheelhouse, equipped with all the instrumentation
necessary for navigation and the latest generation of electronics. The sleeping area is deployed in the lower deck. The suite
owner, stationed amidships to exploit the full width of the hull, offers a central double bed illuminated by the
six large glasses places on both sides, a study corner on the left, a corner vanity to starboard and lounge with private bathroom
Jacuzzi. At the bow are placed the three guest cabins, of which two sides that provide the configuration to read
individual, to which is added a central cabin with double bed and corner office. Aft is located the area
crew that includes the kitchen, cafeteria and two single cabins served by a single bathroom with shower. The transmission are
under three different configurations: the standard v-drive, Arneson drive and another one waterjet Hamilton. According
declared by the yard, the 86S motor with a pair of MTU 2000 HP each, with the transmission Arneson Drive, reaches
maximum speed of 45 knots.
